Marcell graduated at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest in 2017. He started his early research career at 2nd Department of Pathology, Semmelweis University as a PhD student under the supervision of prof. dr. József Tímár. He earned his PhD degree in 2022. During his PhD studies, he participated in two major Hungarian grant projects focusing on KRAS targeting and won three times scholarships for excellence provided by the Hungarian National Research, Development and Innovation Office.

Marcell is the author of 12 peer-reviewed articles, has a cumulative impact factor above 60 and was cited independently more than 100 times.
